  3. I don't know what this post is about, but that was one of our very favourite family reads when the children were little. Delightful!

  4. Thanks for visiting, and leaving a comment Katherine! To cut a long story short, story-telling is a big thing over here in Catalonia and my wife, Silvia, often does story-telling sessions in English, as a volunteer at our local library. Kids love 'em, seem to understand, and lose their inhibitions regarding this "strange foreign language"! At present she does one every two months as we can't fit many more in with our other commitments. This post was advertising her latest "show". We'll be posting a link to the library's blog with photos soon ...

We all love this story too in our family and so it seemed the perfect idea for this month's story. Plus, another teacher at our children's school was also keen on it as they had worked on the story and its laanguage in class.
    You're right, it's a wonderful story - and with great artwork :)

  5. Hello Katherine, and thank you so much for your comments.

It is a lovely story, isn't it? and I find it perfect for young learners of English as it includes lots of repetition and vocabulary that they are familiar with (colours, fruit, days of the week, and so on). As they say "once a teacher, always a teacher".

I can't help looking at books from a "teaching" point of view.

Are there any other well loved stories in your family? I would very keenly have a look at them and see if I can adapt them for our catalan-speaking audience.

    Sílvia
